Originally this Totem Pole was exhibited in Charlottesville's Art in Place in 2006-2007. It was then taken to Meadowlark Botanical Garden where it was on display for three years. It stands 12 feet tall and is made of a variety of domestic hard and soft woods including; White Oak, Red Oak, Walnut, Cherry, and Cedar. These helmeted men represent the cross section of historical warriors, futuristic astronauts, and prehistoric Olmec ballers.
This Totem Pole was sculpted in 2005 for a private residence in Charlottesville, VA. The client wanted to include her five totem animals; Hawk, Fox, Turtle, Frog and Horse. She also has two sets of identical twins that I thought would complete her story. It stands 12 feet tall and is make of three separate pieces of the Cedar taken from her property.
